Nowadays, the use of waste materials and natural pozzolans in order to reduce costs as well as reduce or eliminate environmental problems has become one of the topics of interest to the majority of researchers. In addition to improvement of concrete properties and characteristics, usage of these waste materials also plays a great rule in sustainable development.
In this study, the possibility of using zeolite as a natural pozzolan in SCC was evaluated. For this purpose, the effect of substitution of zeolites with different percentages on the properties of fresh concrete and hardened concrete compressive resistance was evaluated. The results showed that zeolite can improve the performance of SCC in the fresh state, increases the viscosity and stability of concrete and reduces segregation. While the zeolite reduces the strength of concrete at early ages, but in the ages of 28 and 90 days, resistance against the base concrete gets even more.
