The use of ternary blended cements can not only reduce the negative environmental impacts of cement production but also can improve the mechanical and durability properties of concrete. Accordingly, this study investigates concretes incorporating ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) and limestone powder at two different water-to-cement ratios. The results indicate that replacing 30% of cement by weight with GGBFS and 5% of the remaining cement with micronized limestone powder can reduce cement consumption by up to 35% without significant reduction in compressive strength. However, increasing limestone powder content to 10% leads to a slight decrease in compressive strength. Durability assessments also show that replacing 30% of cement with GGBFS and 10% of the remaining cement with limestone powder does not adversely affect the electrical resistivity, rapid chloride migration coefficient, or water absorption of the concrete.
